I have owned several Rocket Oldsmobiles and have owned my 1954 S-88 Holiday Coupe for 26 years. I restored this car myself including a complete engine rebuild and it runs beautifully. I found it unbelievable when I read that the ’54 Olds that was rebuilt by FantomWorks DID NOT FINISH the race due to carburetor failure. The Rochester 4 Jet carbs are the simplest 4 barrel carbs to rebuild there is. After the owner had a small fortune in the Olds’ rebuild and what it cost to enter the race and ship his Olds over there I couldn’t think anything but that he got a real screw job and deserved a refund on at least the build job! After seeing some of the beautiful and difficult jobs done by FantomWorks they should have done better! Unbelievable!!!!

Just for the record carb that the owner used for the race was not the carb that we rebuilt.
