I do not know if this is the correct place to make a safety comment, so here it goes.
I was watching a back episode where Dan is working on a early Corvette. It was stated that this vette had power steering or I may have seen an earlier shot of the actual PS. This power steering is a lot like the PS on a 1969-1970 Mustang/Cougar unit. The one drawback is that Corvette PS unit has an unfortunate tendency to steer the wheels all the way to the right or left, as soon as the engine is started. My point is that the steering wheel spins really fast to one side of the other. I cringed as I watched Dan stick his arm through the steering wheel to start the car. This design flaw has broken or dislocated an awful lot guys arms, doing the reach through the steering wheel cheat. Thank God that this didn’t happen to your star.
Best regards,
Patrick
