This Week at Fantomworks is a short post that we have started to give a little insight on the ongoing projects that the shop is currently working on. Since many can’t make it to the shop for every weekly tour we decided to bring a little bit of the shop to everyone. Hope you enjoy…
With vehicles filling up the Finishing section we begin the week hoping for more warm weather.
A ’37 Buick moves under its own power from the MotorWorks to outside BodyWorks for it’s turn at some attention and then a fresh coat of paint. Hmm, what color will it end up?
Dan’s Route-66 Corvette has all its trim and lights removed and begins the paint removal process. Don’t worry, it’s not the original paint.
Davey finished the body work and priming on a 29 Harley, now it just waits for its turn in the booth.
Heath begins the delicate process of installing all the trim and bumbers to this freshly painted 63 Corvette.
Andy continues the time consuming process of getting the body ready for paint. Paying attention this week to the intricate areas such as the fins and louvers.
Jon continues to prepare the 74 Jaguar for it’s new powerplant. Spending this week working on installing and fitting new firewall panels to accommodate the electronic pedal systems.
ChrisP prepares a worn out 64 Corvette for the removal of its tired engine and the installation of a rebuilt engine.
Hope you enjoyed the brief update on just some of the numerous project currently in the shop. If you are ever in the Norfolk area on a Friday, come on down and see the work being done yourself during one of our weekly Tours.
I bet I am not the only one to say I miss watching your team make cars 100xs better than they were brand new. always looked forward to the next episode. Always made my week.
REALLY enjoyed the Brief Update… Keep it UP!
Enjoy the news .Keep up the good work and let us know if and when you find a new show time on TV as we really miss the show
Nice to know cars such as the ’37 are still being restored. That is why I love your show. I do understand why Fantomworks gave it’s TV show. It was clearly expressed by the opening statement by Dan. Country and cars and we’ll get along just fine. Good for you Mr. Short
dan,get your ars back on facebook live,we miss you
I so miss you folks on TV, but appreciate this newsletter! Thank you!
Thanks for the shop update.
Good job.
Do you still limit shop yours too 20 people? I would like to drive down sometime. I am about 4 hours away in Vacation
Yes we still have a limit but now is time of year to come visit as the summer crowds have not yet started.
Was the best show on TV Period.
Absolutely the BEST car program on MotorWeek.
dan, ‘Is the Man” and the shop personal are the best in teh field.
I miss you guys on TV. Love the emails!
dan sell me me one of your cars?
Good job on keeping is updated on shop.
I live I Bridgewater, Va. And want to visit on your tours. Are they still limited to 20 people?
My drive down would be about 4 hours.
Yes we still have a limit, but now is the right time of the year to come down as the summer crowds haven’t started yet.
Watched the YouTube Video of the restoration areas. WOW, what great work production layout and organization. Great additions of airplanes and boats. Your work area layout has really taken a vast improvement since you completed my 1939 Plymouth Coupe–which by the way is still running and looking great. Also anxious for Spring to arrive so that I can get the Coupe back on the road.
Hope to see you Friday one of coming weeks soon.
Wish fantomworks could retturn 2 tv hope you can make it happen all your fans miss it
Nice Job – Great idea .
Dan ,last week, with the selfie stick was a ,real, touch of a personal glimpse of the shop . Thanks
Plus Dans probably related to me back in Cork . I live north of Boston. I was stationed in Norfolk on a Cruiser CAG1 in 67 .
Dan and Team,
My heart skipped a beat when it became know that the show was no longer going to be broadcasted. I’m car & motorcycle guy along with other interest. I’ve been so impressed with the talent of the total Team.
Love my car, my motorcycle and my county (Vietnam Vet)…
Love the updates…. I keep then in a special folder…keep them coming….
Bob 2000 BMW Z3M w/Dinan Batch+ 82 Suzuki GS1100GL
What’s up with that nifty maroon(ish) Jensen Interceptor shown in the top photo from above? Full restoration? Buff and polish?
i was so broken hearted to see that fantom works has not renewed or more programs. i REALLY enjoyed the builds. learned so much from you dan. PLEASE PLEASE come back with more builds. i am sure i am not the only one wanting this.
Show cancelled felt like I lost a family member!
IT´S VERY GOOD.
CONGRATULECONS
Do you have information on your current staff members,is the Mopar man (Bobby) still with you?
Thank you for the update. Nice to see the shop busy as ever. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the excellent update!
Too bad you’re no longer on TV, I enjoyed watching you guys do work on some of the cars you did, maybe you’ll come back on TV when Motor Trend sells the Velocity Channel again to someone that knows what to do with it. So far it has been a real disappointment and I am not surprised since I never purchased an issue of Motor Trend Magazine, it sucked before and it still sucks!
It has nothing good, it has all the cheap programs, all the good stuff is gone and if there is anything left it is older than the hills.
Hope to see you guys again on TV.
Thanks for all the updates , miss the show but great to see you still making dreams come true
just discovered this show last fall…PLEASE COME BACK…LOVE IT!!!!
