This was in with the newly acquired collection of model cars and we have not been able to find out what exactly it is. So we figured we would turn to the world wide web and see if you guys could help.
This is a very unique 1920’s Fiat Rennwagen X-D 7117 Model. This vehicle is roughly 17 inches long and about 5 inches high. It does show some wear and tear but is still in very good condition. Almost appears almost home-made. It appears to have been made from recycled tin metal and has a stamp on the bottom that appears to look like the number 8 and the letter J. Could possibly be a post WW2, Japanese made model but have been unable to find another like it. If you guys/gals know something more please leave a comment.
Hello, my name is Dexters Guy and I am from Belgium.I must say that your Fiat X-D7117 is a marvelous piece of art and it stoot the test of time verry well the test of time. I have done some research of this car and I can tell you that it not from an early or todays European manufactor, also its origin is not Japanese because they didn’t use Europese/American 8 and J letters in those days. They used Japanese letters. There is no manufactor on the bottom of the car or elswere. This can mean that the car is a gift from a company to their employees, usually higher levell. So it made in a verry little edition. I do have a Ferrari 312B2 F1 with no manufactor on the bottom but I know that an old English gentleman, a friend of my father, worked in the 60’s and early 70’s for Shell England and he got that car as a new years gift. I asked him why their was no manufactor written/printed on the bottom and he said to me that this was common factory policy, because it was a gift from Shell and we (Shell) don’t advertice for other companies. Remember we are talking in the early 70’s. But perhaps you can get a little help from a Canadian group of people: Through google you can find them. Their name is: the great Canadian model builders web.
Best of luck in your search and perhaps I will read more of your seach through your newsletter. Greetings Dexters G. Belgium.
I see this car every weekday. It sits in my boss’ office. I will ask him about it. If anybody knows what it is, it’s him.

That is definitely the car that is the model for this one. Could not find out about this model, does look more homemade. Have yet to see another model exactly like it, as this one appears to be made from recycled/ reused metal. Thank you for the lead.
This might be it.

Dear enthousiasts,
I own exactly this model, but after after an extensive search I couldn’t find the manufacturer/builder or building year.
Does anybody knows something about the value?
Thx in advance,
Fred Imhoff (Belgium).
