Another BEAUTIFUL Kaiser Darrin is featured in the Amazon Series “The Man in the High Castle, Season 2, Episode 6 Kintsugi”, at the 14:05 mark and at other times throughout the series. Painted in a gorgeous Ivory exterior, White Interior with a Trumpet klaxon (horn) it really caught my attention.
This original Amazon series presents an alternative history following WWII, with the Axis powers having won. Certainly strange but well acted, but to ME, the highlight was the Kaiser Darrin. With a design reminiscent of the BMW 503 and 507 roadsters of the mid-1950’s, the Darrin is a gorgeous automobile.
Speaking of Kaiser, are the readers aware that the health insurance company, Kaiser Permanente was founded by the same Henry J. Kaiser?
Ever been to Honolulu? The Hilton Hawaiian Village was initially built by Henry J. Kaiser, as well as the east Honolulu residential community of Hawaii Kai. Assuming that the KAI represented “Shell” in Japanese, it is actually… you guessed it.. KAI for Henry J. KAISER.
Look him up. Perhaps he is most famous for his shipyards during World War II, building Liberty Ships and Victory Ship at a remarkably rate of 5-14 days per ship. Kaiser Permanente was born from the medical facilities at each shipyard providing care for the workers. Amazing guy and an AMAZING DARRIN.
